SpendIdentifiers

Struct SpendIdentifiers

Source
pub struct SpendIdentifiers<AccountId> { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

The set of identifiers whose appearance in a scanned block reveals a spend of wallet funds: the Nullifiers of the wallet’s unspent shielded notes, together with the outpoints of its unspent transparent outputs.

Transparent outpoints are held in a hash map, and matching them is not constant-time. This is not because the data is public — an outpoint is public, but the wallet’s association with it is exactly what a wallet rotating addresses and shielding promptly needs to keep private. It is because the transparent path cannot deliver the property at this point alone: recognizing a transparent output requires resolving its address against the wallet’s address set, and that lookup, whether a hash-map probe or a storage backend’s indexed query, already takes time that depends on whether the address is the wallet’s. Constant-time matching here would leave that larger channel open while costing a linear scan of what may be a large UTXO set. Closing it properly requires addressing both paths together.

Implementations§

Source§

impl<AccountId> SpendIdentifiers<AccountId>

Source

pub fn empty() -> Self

Constructs a new empty set of spend identifiers.

Source

pub fn unspent<DbT: WalletRead<AccountId = AccountId>>( db_data: &DbT, ) -> Result<Self, DbT::Error>

Fetches the spend identifiers of the unspent outputs being tracked by the given wallet.

Source

pub fn shielded(&self) -> &Nullifiers<AccountId>

Returns the nullifiers of the shielded notes that the wallet is tracking.

Source

pub fn transparent(&self) -> &HashMap<OutPoint, AccountId>

Available on crate feature transparent-inputs only.

Returns the outpoints of the unspent transparent outputs that the wallet is tracking, each mapped to the account that received it.

Source§

impl<AccountId: Copy> SpendIdentifiers<AccountId>

Source

pub fn update_with(&mut self, scanned_block: &ScannedBlock<AccountId>)

Updates this set of spend identifiers based on the results of scanning a block.

The shielded nullifiers are updated as by Nullifiers::update_with. Likewise, the outpoints of transparent outputs the wallet spent in this block are removed, and those of the transparent outputs it received are added, so that their spends are detected in subsequent blocks.
